At Aguilar Law Offices we are selective about
the cases we accept. We will not handle frivolous suits —
but we do not shy away from complicated or tough cases. It's our
policy to investigate a case and, if we decide that the case has
no merit or that it would not be in our client's best interest,
we will not continue with the case.
|

Our clients often ask how much their
case is worth, especially when the case involves personal injury.
No attorney can tell you the value of your case without first evaluating
and preparing the case. And no two cases are alike. So, our attorneys
evaluate each case — and its value — on its own merit.
|

Our fees are based on the case. Before
we start a case, we require a written fee agreement. We get paid
either on an hourly basis or on a contingency basis, depending on
the type of case.
|

Hourly fees compensate our attorneys
for their time. Each attorney's hourly rate is based on his or
her education, expertise, and experience in a particular area
of practice.
|

Our contingency fee structure allows
clients to bring suits that would otherwise be prohibitive on
an hourly fee basis. With this arrangement, we are paid a percentage
of the amount we recover on behalf of our clients. The percentage
depends on the case, and is separate from expenses.
When we take contingency cases, our
firm only handles them on a gross contingency fee basis. We are
paid based on the total amount recovered prior to the deduction
of expenses. In other words, expenses are always paid by the client.
|

We incur expenses when we handle a case.
Our clients are responsible for paying all expenses related to their
case. These expenses are billed separately from our time and include
such items as: court costs, subpoena fees, travel expenses, delivery
charges, witness fees, doctor's charges, legal research expenses
and administrative charges.
